What with celebrity scandals, health scares and horsemeat infiltrations, reading the news can be a depressing activity these days. Fortunately, Positive News is here to provide the silver lining. Billed as the “worlds first solutions focused newspaper”, Positive News aims to challenge and inspire its readers (now over 60,000 for the print edition), and report on the people and initiatives that are making a positive difference in the world.
There’s clearly a natural synergy with the HUB so we were delighted when the editor, Sean Dagan Wood, decided to become a member here earlier this year and asked us to write a monthly column on the people leading socially-driven business.
Each month in ‘Good Business’, I will be checking in with an inspiring social entrepreneur and finding out about their work and what drives them. The first month it seemed appropriate to talk to Luke Nicholson – our first ever member who continues to base his carbon reduction consultancy, Carbon Culture, here at HUB Islington.
You can read my first piece here. I’d love to hear what you think and if you have any suggestions for future people to profile in this column, please get in touch: firstname.lastname@example.org
