Hub Suppers Summer Edition: A Gastronomical Success

Last Wednesday night, sixteen Hubbers and other innovative social entrepreneur types spanning architects, journalists, charity managers, an urban gardener, a diplomat and a maths and science prodigy, ascended on Hub Islington for our second Hub Supper.
They were greeted at the door with a glass of wine, and canapés prepared by Elaine Byfield of The Dulwich Cook, including whipped ricotta, pomegranate, smashed pea and mint crostinis; mango, chilli, lime and coriander crustades; and sticky teriyaki chicken meatballs.
The starters were followed by a main of Mexican chipotle beef with macerated onions, sour cream and charred habanero sauce, while vegetarians were treated with a dinner of braised puy lentils with leek, gorgonzola and caperberries.
The night was rounded off with a dessert of blackcurrant lemon posset, home made chocolate truffles, and a conversation so lively not a single guest left until an hour after the advertised closing time.
Hub Suppers is a supper club with a difference; a series of bespoke dinners designed to create meaningful introductions through conversation, not business cards.
