Year Here launches 2014 postgraduate fellowship in social innovation
We’re looking for brilliant, driven, compassionate graduates >> And we need your help to find them.
Year Here have opened applications for its 2014 leadership programme, challenging Britain’s brightest talents to a year of tackling society’s toughest problems.
From serving at the frontline of London’s social services to learning from the country’s leading social entrepreneurs, fellows develop the empathy, hustle and acumen they need to make a serious impact. The experience is tough, demanding, and all the more rewarding for it.
Year Here is a social enterprise with an extraordinary network of partners and friends – from care homes to the Cabinet Office, and from filmmakers to entrepreneurs. Year Here provides a fresh pathway into social leadership, giving form to graduates’ desire to use their careers to improve society.
Last year’s inaugural programme, launched at Number 10 Downing Street, saw fellows featured in the Evening Standard, the Daily Telegraph and published in the Independent along the course of their journey. Innovative approaches towards work experience were established and Hackney’s first ever human library was established as the fellows began their journeys towards tackling the social problems of today.
The fellowship culminated in late August at GradFest where fellow-led enterprise Rootless Garden won £5,000 from UnLtd for their social enterprise reconnecting the elderly with nature.
The deadline for applications is Monday 3rd February.
