London as a ‘Sharing City’ – A Participatory World Cafe Event
The most pressing challenges facing cities today, including wealth inequality, environmental pollution, climate resilience, and social isolation, have the potential to be mitigated by the efficient and equitable sharing of our existing resources.
This participatory event will begin with a short presentation about how the ‘real sharing economy’ is connecting people together, empowering community-led disaster recovery efforts, and working under the radar to meet the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Following the presentation, participants in engage in a ‘World Cafe’ style discussion to work through a series of questions in small groups to:
- Explore the state of things in London
- Celebrate what is working (services & initiatives that already exist)
- Uncover the pressing needs/niches calling to be filled
- Chart out what a shared path forward could look like and discuss how this group (and others not present) might work together to meet those needs.
