London+Acumen Design Kit: Prototyping

London+Acumen Design Kit: Prototyping

What can you learn from a roll of duct tape, a stack of cardboard, and a pad of Post-Its? A lot of what you need to know to start solving a problem of poverty.

That’s the power of prototyping, and the idea that drives +Acumen’s newest course, Design Kit: Prototyping. Creating a rough basic model of your product or service lets you get your idea into the hands of the people who’ll be using it. And that sets your team up for early feedback, faster improvement, and a better understanding of the need you hope to fulfill.

Developed in partnership with IDEO.org, this course draws on the mindset and methods taught in Design Kit: The Course for Human-Centered Design. We’ll provide a real world design concept to get you started, then walk you through how to quickly bring it to life through different prototyping methods.

You’ll experiment with prototypes for products, services, and environments. You’ll make, test, and reflect, then revise and refine your approach. You’ll become a more innovative problem solver — and you’ll know how to find out what works for the people you want to serve.

Come join us 7-9pm Tuesday evenings at the ImpactHub-Islington on 24/5, 31/5, 7/6, 14/6, 21/6, 28/6.
