The Brainy Brunch: Ecocide, Value and The Rights of Nature

The Brainy Brunch: Ecocide, Value and The Rights of Nature

“Are natural resources such as the air we breathe and the water we drink a human right? How does society articulate value in decision-making that isn’t monetary? And, what does nature actually mean to us in the modern world?”

Come to the July edition of Brainy Brunch as we discuss such questions – the debate around the rights of nature, and the starting point for the campaign for an international law to end ecocide.

Through games and exercises, we will trace the impact of our personal values and products, and discuss whether the best way to protect the environment is to put a price on it (e.g. carbon trading) or whether it should have value regardless of its usefulness to humans.

As usual, we’ll be chewing on these big issues with a side order of brunch and friendly banter, up in the beautiful, sunny setting of Impact Hub Islington.
